A New York Weekend |
|
|
A brief time in the Big Apple
When the opportunity presents itself, I hate to turn it down. My best friend called and said he had tickets to a show. All I had to do was fly to New York. Simple enough, sure, but that would mean spending a bunch of money on a plane ticket and working out a lot of complicated logistics. So I did! It's always great to go out and spend time with Bret, and this brief trip was no exception. In the first weekend in June (2012) we managed to fit in a huge amount of great food, entertainment, and enjoyment in a very short period of time. This page of photos really tells only a small part of the story, but it's here to start the conversation. Have a look, and ask a few questions.

The Asch building was the site of a horrific fire in 1911. 146 workers died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire. Now the building is used by NYU. |

We got back to Point Pleasant Beach late
on Saturday night and spent the next two days relaxing. The weather was hit and
miss, but we enjoyed the time immensely just the same. Beth put on a great
birthday party, we partook of some exquisite Spanish spirits, feasted on some of
Frankie's finest Buffalo chicken strips, devoured a couple of Hoffman's
delicious "small" cones, and sat out the worst of the storms
conversing on the front porch like friendly folks are apt do in small town
America. It was perfect.
